It's true!
I was talking to wife about this at the Chili's by the Prudential building. 
"How come everyone running is super Rich?"
"You need money to run for President, what with Campaign adds, and all the flying ect..."
"But Why?"
Why couldn't the FCC give airtime to those running? But Mark, the FCC doesn't have the power to do that
B.S. They will fine a show thats been of the air for 4 years for showing a bare ass, they tell you what and what cant be put on air. They make sure that a certain amount of educational TV is on TV or they fine people or threaten to take away their license.Basically if 4 people are running, you give each of them 30sec-1 minute of prime time Airtime for a commercial. They show those 5 times during prime time, thats only 20 minutes.ORThey arrange for 30 minute debate (with commercials, making it only 20 minutes total)
We already give Federal Money to those running. Why not make it all Federal Dollars. Its a drop in the bucket compared to the money we waste now. Also it might keep things alittle more honest.We need to cut the purse strings of the special interest groups and large companies who fund the political process,
We need it so that you dont have to be a Clinton or a Bush or a Kennedy to become President.  Why couldn't we have middle or lower class President. You shouldn't have to be married to Ketchup Mogul to be able to run. Your daddy shouldn't have to be a CIA DIrector with oil fields for you to get in the running.
Abe Lincoln was not a Rich Man, he grew up a poor farmer whose family had to move many  times due to economic problems and land right issues. But through alot of hard work he became President. he was even his own Campaign Manager.
With the way things are going today in 10 years I expect the president to be chosen by an AMerican Idol Sing off or through mud 'wrasslin
