And no, im not talking about Red Sox Nation .. altho great game tonight!

Go Sox! Let me tell ya .. tonight i met w/a Tarot Reader! Ok .. so im not one of those who believes in these things but I was somehow roped into hosting a "reading party." The Tarot Reader lives in my town and my 'out of town' friends asked me to do it .. So I figured why not .. 6 women, wine, cheese, a tarot reading and, of course, the sox, why not! I didn't think much of this to be honest .. I dont quite believe in this stuff, doing it more for the socializing and fun! My friend picked up the 'reader' and a few others and came over! I cooked dinner, had wine, game .. all is good! So I thought! Then one by one, each person came out sharing their story with the 'reader.' It's my turn .. wine in hand .. I head down the hallway .. somewhat smiling like oh this will be fun!! But from what the others had said, now im somewhat nervous!!!

I sit down and the first words out of her mouth hit me like a ton of bricks! Did my friends share something w/her, i thought? I continue with the reading and it was dead on. The cards i picked were EXACTLY what is going on in my life. Could this be real? Could these cards REALLY tell me what's happening? Could she offer ANY sort of guidance? I left my session scratching my head .. in AWE!!! She hit SO many things that I'm dealing with .. none of which my friends are dealing with nor did she mention... so why me? Im left with so many questions! Have you ever had such a real experience? Did you ever not believe but then experience this first hand to change your mind? I tell ya, today, right now... I believe .. it freaked me out so much so .. im still up hours after she left! Kinda wondering how she knew all that!! What do you think? I'd LOVE to know!!! Smiley................

Smiley, I, too, am not into this. I cannot understand how a total stranger could even remotely know anything about me--But--many years ago before I was married, just as a joke, I went to one, and the things she told me just blew me away--I have been married for 33 years--at the time I saw this woman, I was engaged to be married, but walked in without my engagement ring. I also went in with a male friend of ours who looks completely different from my husband--he was @ 5' 10", @ 175 lbs, blonde hair, clean-shaven, light eyes and ok looking. My husband, on the other hand was @5'7", very thin, black curly hair, hazel eyes, had a mustache and very good looking. She told me that I was in fact engaged to be married and described my (fiancee) husband to a tee. She also told me I would have 4 pregnancies, but only 3 children--my first pregnancy would end in a miscarriage(all true). She told me that all my children would be girls(also true) She also told me my marriage would be my only one, as I would stay happily married for a very long time--very true. The one thing that blew me away--she told me that we would go through some very difficult times, some causing great heartache for our family, BUT, with our love, all would come out ok. My God, you have no idea! Of course, all of these things have occurred over many years, but the fact of the matter is, she was right on the money in EVERYthing she told me. I haven't been to one since--she scared the bajesus right out of me!

Smiley -- you always make me smile, giggle & outright laugh out loud!! Whatever you say, I always sense a touch stone w/ you. Yes, some 20 years ago I had just moved into a new neighborhood by maybe 3 weeks. A neighbor was nice enough to invite me to a tarot party. While fortune tellers, false prophets, soothsayers, etc. are strictly against my faith, I felt there was no harm in meeting the girls in the neighborhood & all in fun -- not taking anything in any way seriously. UNTIL - this woman (who professed great faith) among women who didn't know me at all -- began to speak in such precise detail that her words weren't eerie but entirely too familiar for a foreign setting -- shared her enlightenment/talent/perceptions in such a way that now, 20 years later, I am quite comfortable that she was gifted under Scriptural interpretation -- what she said came true in a tapestry she related as an Almighty architecture (if you will). I'll never forget it although most of what she said "went in one ear & out the other" because I wasn't taking it seriously; it was a social not a sermon. I do remember the pillars she set in place & am happy to report that her most favorable outcome is well on its way to fruition! How funny you should come up w/ this topic! Most of this stuff is "bunko," but you've described someone who could be one and the same person -- wouldn't that be something! Next time, invite me -- thanks!!

I'd offer to throw you a party, Amom, but I don't do social situations. While there are fakes out there who'll say something incredibly vague and read your responses to their statements, there are honest-to-goodness Tarot readers out there who've really tapped into their gifts and will tell you the truth, even if it hurts. Sounds like you've met one of those, Smiley, and I can understand that you're a bit freaked out, but just remember, the ones who tell you the truth are those who've worked hard to attain the knowledge to do so. They're not the type that you read about from Houdini's day with all the tricks during seances to make people believe.

So Im not alone!! Thanks for sharing your stories!!

Xantun, I know .. i know she takes it very seriously and she told me it upsets her when others dont .. One thing she told me already came true, TODAY! So yeh, freaked out .. but it's kinda cool too!!!

Next time amom.. you totally can come!!!! : )

Smiley, that's the mark of someone who knows what they're doing...I read something the other day that really puts this into perspective: "What would we think of doctors or lawyers who have to constantly tell us how powerful they are?"

Amom, I'll go for the hell of it, but my deck stays home! :-P

I've had one experience that still makes me smile to this day. It wasn't with a Tarot reader but here it goes:

I was 5 years old (the youngest) and my Mom was trying to get the other 5 kids ready for school. She was showing me again how to tie my sneakers but had to go to the kitchen. I was struggling with the sneaker tying and was alone in the living room. I looked up and heard a voice saying this is how to tie them and two hands appeared on a curtain, kind of like a movie screen. It was the voice of my Grandfather and Mothers Dad who had passed away about 2 weeks earlier. It was September and he was my best Buddie as we'd play everyday over the summer. I just started kindergarten so my world was turned upside down.

The voice explained how to tie the sneakers and the hands showed it and I tied them and went to show my Mom and tell her about the hands. I don't know if she really believed me and I will have to ask her about the episode next time I speak with her. Hopefully she will be able to recount the events but having 6 kids all needing to get ready for school was a busy time.

This is not a made up story it really happened. Now when I think back at the age of 43 it really lets me know that my Dad who passed in 2003 is still with us and looking down seeing me with my family that he never really got to know.

My best buddie and friend Grampy helped his little buddie who was struggling with his sneaker tying.

While we are chided and rebuked to even suggest that there are other dimensions -- recently National Geographic channel had a documentary of a symposium of scientists exploring other dimensions!! So -- no matter what "they say," they can't say that other dimensions don't exist. The diminution of the possibilities are intended to keep people ignorant and control-able because if we were ever able to fathom the limitless, our potential would be exponential and, therefor, not control-able by those who control the flow of information!! I beleive!

Amom, I have to laugh when people say that there aren't other dimensions. Even as realistic as I am, I know for a FACT that this stuff happens, since it happens to me. My grandfather passed away 5 years ago, and my brother 2 years ago, but they're both still hanging around the house, helping us out, or messing with us (they were both total pranksters) as they see fit. So when people say they don't exist, I invite 'em to check out my house.

Lafko, you're among believers here...I certainly don't think you're making it up. See above. :-)

Wow Lafko ... amazing story .. how special for you to have that memory ...
it's hard to imagine those things to be 'real' or anyone predicting the future .. but so many have had experiences that suggest otherwise ... my other friend wants to know host a party .. keep ya posted!!! : ) smiley...

Smiley, you have to realize that human beings don't consciously use our whole brain. I think it's like 10 or 11 percent we use, and that's thought and movement and involuntary functions like breathing. As you've learned, these things are in fact real, and I (this is gonna sound so intellectual...feel free to make fun of me later) theorize that some people experience them only because they're tapping into the other parts of the brain. Some people (like those who're serious about divination) do it consciously, but others aren't aware of it. (Like in Lafko's story, he was very young, so I doubt he was trying to see his helper). Unfortunately, with all the fakes out there, the real thing often gets lost. Except for those of us who are "lucky" enough to be hit with a true experience.

When I got the call from the pediatrician's office that my baby had a lethal Pb burden, I was, as you can imagine -- completely beside myself -- crunching my brain trying to think of how to help him, crying with terror at how such an horrible thing could happen to such a sweet little infant .... I truly felt the "presence" of my grandmother in one of those back and forth moments in my pantry, bent over the countertop, praying to God for an Answer -- because the doctors were (pre-murderous) so lofty, distant and blaise. I saw a flash of light over my right shoulder -- probably a car coming down the street which headlights reflected off a pan -- but, at the same time, I could hear her thinking for me, "I would give him a purge..." and that was my Answer. I grabbed all my nutrition books in order to find out how to bind and force his little metabolism to eliminate toxins so deadly they're second only to radiation -- built a formula and, by God Alone -- it worked spectacularly and his elevated bloodwork "dropped like a rock." This is exactly how the process came to mind. I believe!

It is a memory of my "Grampy" that will NEVER leave my mind.

Thanks all.

Hey Guys! Well since we are all sharing .. I figured I might get a little 'personal' if thats okie! When I said i dont really believe in this stuff .. I guess I wasn't 100% truthful. I don't want to believe cause I am scared. When I was in my teens, I had a few premonitions, that came to me in the form of dreams. Usually harmless, but still nonetheless being 13, 14, 15 .. this was 'freaky." I cried myself to sleep one night begging a higher being to help make this go away .. I didn't like 'seein the future' and after that night it hasn't been back. Perhaps it was my own mind not 'accepting' the info .. i dont know. So when I saw this reader, and she was 'dead on' it just reminded me that some do have the power, perhaps if i developed it I could too .. i'd rather not ....

Smiley, I agree, that the first few times you see anything, even if you're trying to, is pretty "freaky". It's not like divination is considered to be something it's acceptable to train for, the way sports are. And trust me, it takes a lot of training to control the ability. (Which is great when people look at you funny in the bookstores, like I need any help in that regard). Even if you'd rather not develop any skills you might have, you're still fine by me ;-)
